General Lecture Batch 37, 38 and Matriculation 39

To welcome new students Batch 38, on Monday 12th August 2019, Accountant Profession Education Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada held a general lecture. Not only o Batch 38 ( new students) are invited, but also Batch 37 and Matriculation Class 39 in order to get benefit of this event. 

Dean of Faculty of Economic and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada, Mr Eko Suwardi attended this event. He congratulated all Batch 38 students because they have been confirmed as the the new students of Universitas Gadjah Mada. He suggested all the students to learn hard and  implement Gadjah Mada’s noble value.

Accountant Profession Education invited Mr. Didi Achjari as speaker.  He presented the role of accountant in the modern technology era, especially in the Industrial Revolution. 

Modern/new technology like artificial intelligence, internet of things, robotics etc are emerging the potential for having a transformative impact on industry. These also have an impact on the economy and society as a whole. The scope and the speed of this technological change is exponential with the potential for unlimited possibilities. 

Mr. Didi Achjari also stated that Industrial Revolution 4.0 can be expected to affect the accounting practices such as: enable accountants to obtain previously unobtainable data in real time through embedded sensors, raise the data quality through greater timelines and better accuracy to improve efficiency and other decision making purpose. 

What accountants will need to do in the future is to keep abreast of technology to stay competitive in the market. They also should  develop their digital skills which employers will increasingly be in search of. The general lecture was closed with question and answer session
